The municipality Oliveira do Hospital is
located in the north counter of the District of Coimbra, the old university city ( central Portugal). Sited at 508 meter height, near the feet of the highest Portuguese mountain ( 2000 meter), the Serra da Estrela.
Oliveira do Hospital is surrounded by the municipalities of Nelas, Carregal do Sal, Arganil, Tabua and Seia.
The municipality also belongs to the tourism region of the Serra da Estrela - " RTSE- Regiao de
Turismo da Serra da Estrela"- .
Oliveira do Hospital has 21 parish, each one of them has their own council and hamlets.
The total area of the municipality Oliveira do Hospital is 234,55 square km. It has a
total of 22 584 inhabitants.
